The dynamic surface of this bowl comes from the interplay between the slip trailing and the path of the flame through the woodfire kiln. Notice patterns of ash and the blush of the flashing, dancing around the fern decoration and the wads, which are used to separate the pots from each other during the firing, and leave 3 distinct comet-like spots.

This beautiful piece can be used for serving food such as ramen or pasta or side dishes, or can be used ritually for a floating candle vessel. It’s also the perfect size for a facial steam, inviting both healing and nourishment. It is roughly 10” in diameter and 4” tall.
